"Exploring the Best Lymphatic Drainage Techniques for Your Individual Needs: Vodder Technique or Lymphatic Drainage Massage with Myofascial Cupping "

In this busy world sometimes, we need a little help to stay the best version of ourselves. One thing that we can forget to prioritize is keeping our body and its systems in balance by making sure our detoxification and our natural immune defenses are working properly. When this natural defense drainage system or lymphatic system, an integral part of immunity, is working it keeps us healthy, detoxified and therefore energized but sometimes lifestyle, time constraints, disease, trauma, the natural ageing process and genetics can put the system out of balance, this is where Manual Lymphatic Drainage or MLD comes in.

At MYOMY Wellness we offer 2 types of lymphatic drainage treatments depending on your individual needs: Myotherapy Lymphatic Drainage incorporating Myofascial cupping and Vodder Technique. So, which one do you choose?

The first technique offered at MYOMY Wellness is Myotherapy Lymphatic Drainage, which is based on an ancient Chinese technique using cupping to draw toxins out of the deeper tissues and directing them in the direction of the natural flow of the lymphatic system.

Myofascial cupping can also help with blood flow and releasing blockages and stagnation in the lymphatic channels.

This technique is also the perfect combination of remedial massage to help with any type of fluid retention around joints and muscle groups and the perfect compliment to a detoxing program.

The second is Vodder Technique MLD; to sum it up Vodder Technique was developed in 1932 by the Vodder's who studied the lesser-known system and developed careful precise movements and procedures to assist in the removal of fluid in the tissues and skin.

Vodder Technique is generally for acute swelling known as lymphedema, wound scar tissue formation and acute trauma, this is especially useful after surgery when swelling of the tissues occurs or after a trauma also when the lymphatic system has been under prolonged imbalance and ongoing fluid retention has been occurring due to genetics, the natural aging process or pregnancy for example fluid in the calves', ankles and feet.

How Myomy Wellness combines Lymphatic Drainage with other modalities.

EMS and HIFU are at the forefront of body sculpting, offering managed weight loss, muscle strengthening, toning, and skin tightening. Enhance these results with a session from our Myotherapy Allied Health Professionals, who specialize in breaking down fibrous tissue and cellulite, as well as eliminating discarded fat cells through Myofascial Cupping Lymphatic Drainage. This method is excellent for weight loss or detoxification and is claimable through HICAPS and private health benefits.

 Pigmentation

At Myomy we have an amazing approach to the removal of all different types of pigmentation including Melasma, Epidermal Pigmentation and Hyper pigmentation usually due to old acne scarring and cystic trauma.

Lymphatic drainage aids in the removal of pigmentation by adopting a holistic approach that begins with ensuring the skin is healthy and hydrated. Without adequate hydration, the skin's processes are less effective. The body recognizes pigment as a foreign entity, but cannot engulf large plaques or lesions through phagocytosis by natural immune cells. Thus, treatments like laser light, depigmentation chemicals, and microneedling break down the lesions into smaller fragments. The lymphatic system then transports immune cells to eliminate the melanocytes, which are excreted via the urinary system. The Vodder Technique further assists by flushing and draining the affected tissue, promoting the removal of fragmented lesions and melanocyte plaques by circulating fresh lymphatic fluid.

Acne and inflamed skin can lead to an accumulation of excess fluid, as the delicate lymphatic channels may not drain naturally. This can compromise the one-way valves that work alongside the circulatory system. However, with the Vodder Technique, these channels can be gently opened, allowing for drainage around the wound site and enabling fresh fluid to circulate through the tissue.
