How Does HIFU Work?
HIFU is a precisely controlled, micro-focused ultrasound energy that revitalizes the three important levels of the infrastructure of the skin, with no pain or downtime.
It uses deep dermal micro-heating and contraction for multi-layered lifting, tightening and contouring, whilst promoting maximum collagen rejuvenation.
Results can often be seen immediately post-treatment and improves as your bodies' collagen production increases in the 6-12 weeks post-treatment, resulting in a tighter, more contoured look that can last over 12 months.

What to expect during and after your treatment?
HIFU - High Intensity Focused Ultrasound is non-invasive cosmetic procedure with minimal side effects. However, it’s quite normal to experience the following:
Day of treatment:
We asked that you arrive with a clean face, and be well hydrated. If receiving a HIFU Face treatment please wear a low neck line.
Before Photos will be taken (these are kept on your profile with us to monitor results)
The Dermal Clinician will prepare your skin with numbing cream (this is optional).
The area treated will be mapped out for treatment and ultrasound gel applied.
HIFU will be applied at specific tailored depths to suit each individuals needs. This can take between 1 hour - 2 hours.
Day 1
A flushed / pink appearance is normal. Your skin may feel tight, or sensitive to touch. Treat the skin gently by washing it with a gentle cleanser, cool water.
Some redness may also be present and in some rare cases, patients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days and temporary swelling for 2-4 days. Swelling is very mild. Most describe the swelling as a "plump lift".
Tips

Avoid heat, such as jacuzzis, saunas, and steam baths for up to 48 hours.

Use only mineral makeup if necessary and gentle cosmetics.

Avoid AHA's, BHA's and active facial ingredients.
Day 2- 3
You may start your regular skin care products again. Most of our patients have noticed continued skin improvement over the months following their treatment.
For best results: We recommend a mini follow-up treatment 12 weeks post initial treatment.
Once desired outcome is achieved, maintenance treatments are recommended once every 12 months.

An innovative eye rejuvenation procedure incorporating both HIFU and Micro Crystal Fractional (RF) Radio Frequency Microneedling, infused with platinum eyelift serum to address lines & wrinkles, tighten skin around the eyes, forehead and eyelids, diminish dark circles, and reduce puffiness around the eyes.

How long does a treatment take?Treatment duration varies from 30 minutes - 2.5 hours depending on the area/areas being treated.

Is there any downtime, will I need to take time off workYour skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. There is no downtime! You can return to your normal activities immediately after your procedure without any post-treatment restrictions or requirements. Other, less common post-procedural effects may include temporary bruising or numbness on small areas of skin. As with any medical procedure, there is the possibility for other rare effects.

How many treatments will I need?Your results will continue improving gradually for up to six months following the treatment. After six months, as with any age defying treatment, your skin will naturally continue to age but HIFU can give you fresher, younger looking skin for approximately 24 months after your treatment.

What does HIFU feel like, is it painful?Some patients describe it as tiny electric pulses or a noticeably light prickly sensation. Immediately after the treatment, you may experience mild redness or swelling, which will gradually recede over a few hours.Treatment duration varies from 30 minutes - 2.5 hours depending on the area/areas being treated.

Is HIFU Safe?Yes, HIFU Treatment is safe. HIFU uses a safe, time-tested ultrasound, which has been shown to be effective in clinical studies with treatments performed on over 350,000 patients worldwide. Ultrasound has been used safely in the medical field for over 50 years. HIFU is one of the few treatments that is safe for all skin types, as it uses ultrasound and bypasses the upper layers of skin where the pigment is, and treats the area that requires attention.

What do I need to do before a HIFU Treatment?No Sun exposure or sun tanning for a minimum of 7 days prior to treatment Avoid antibiotics or blood thinning medications 7-14 days prior to treatment No Omega3 or Chemical peels for a minimum 2-4 weeks prior to treatment No Laser or skin needling treatments done on the area for treatment for a minimum of 4 weeks Stop the use of “all-active” skincare products for a minimum of 4-7 days prior to treatment No Alcohol 2 days prior to treatment Start to drink a minimum of 2-3 litres of water a week in advance of commencement of treatment If you are a skin type IV-VI we will need to start using a melanin inhibitor (skin lightening products). Your therapist will discuss this with you, if needed. Start to use a high SPF sunscreen 2 weeks prior to treatment Start to use a good quality skin hydration regime 2 weeks prior to treatment

After there any side effects after a HIFU treatment?Compared to a full Face Lift Surgery, there is minor down time and minimal side effects with 4D HIFU which makes it a great alternative to invasive and expensive procedures. You may look a little flushed and red after your treatment, but this usually settles within a couple of hours. You may experience mild swelling and tenderness, but again, these settle quickly and are a temporary side effect with 4D HIFU.
